New Winery Opens in the Finger Lakes

This is from Jim Trezise of the New York Wine and Grape Foundation:

A new winery has opened in the Finger Lakes.

Toro Run Winery is one of the state's newest, opening May 31 in the town of Romulus between Cayuga and Seneca Lakes. The new winery sits on 11 acres of vineyards and has a tasting room overlooking Cayuga Lake. It can produce up to 10,000 cases of wine and offers catering services and site rentals for weddings, reunions and other events.

Go to www.tororunwinery.com for more information.

Also of note, two New York wineries -- Fox Run Vineyards and Three Brothers Winery -- recently received the 2013 Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor. Both are on Seneca Lake.

TripAdvisor, an internationally known travel website, states on its site: To qualify for the Certificate of Excellence, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travelers on TripAdvisor. Additional criteria include the volume of reviews received within the last 12 months.
