On Wednesday, March 4,
state Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball will join local leaders
at the Times Union Center in Albany to announce a
new “farm to fan” initiative
designed to support local agriculture and enhance the “Taste NY”
experience for visitors.
In a given year, annual attendance at the
Times Union Center ranges between 550,000 and 650,000. This new
partnership will be a tremendous opportunity to expand the
reach of New York agricultural producers, Ball said.
“While this is the first such partnership of its kind between ‘Taste NY’ and a large-scale arena, I’m optimistic
it won’t be the last,” Ball said.
The press conference announcing the partnership will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Times Union Center, 51 S. Pearl St., Albany. In addition to Ball, those attending will be Bob Belber, SMG Regional General Manager, Times Union Center; Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy and Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan.
Samples of local foods soon to be available at the Times Union Center will be at the press event.
