Dairy Parade in Watertown Begins at 7 PM June 2
Washington Street in Watertown will be buzzing today as the annual Dairy Parade kicks off at 7 p.m.
The theme this year is "Agriculture Mooooving America." The parade starts at Watertown High School and ends at the Dulles State Office Building.
The parade is always held in June, which is Dairy Month.
It’s the first public appearance of the new Jefferson County Dairy Princess, Cassidy Schell. There also is another marching band added to the mix, bringing the total number up to six marching bands in the parade!
There also are two new farm float entries in addition to the usual entries. There also are seven fire departments, Boy Scouts, many huge tractors and other types of farm equipment in the parade.
Cowlick Ice Cream gave out nearly 2,000 ice cream samples to children along the parade last year and they are coming back again!
After the parade, the Jefferson County Dairy Princess and her court will hand out free ice cream sundaes inside the Dulles State Office building.
